If you are getting divorced, our fee for completing the procedural steps in your application or response will be £250.00 plus VAT (£300.00 inclusive of VAT).
If you are the Applicant (the party who issues the divorce application) you will also have to pay the Court fee which is currently £612.00.
Please note that these fees do not include work in connection with the financial aspect of your divorce, but only in relation to the procedural element of the divorce process.
The typical stages in connection with a divorce are: -
Meeting you to take full instructions.
Issuing your Divorce Application via the His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Service online portal (Applicant).
Receiving and acknowledging the Divorce Application (Respondent).
Obtaining of Conditional Order (Applicant).
The proceedings are quite often then paused while finances are negotiated and finalised.
· Obtaining the Final Divorce Order (Applicant).
The person applying for the divorce is called the Applicant and the person who is “being divorced” is called the Respondent. The first stage of the divorce is the issuing of the Application, followed by the pronouncement of the Conditional Order (a minimum of 20 weeks following the date of issue of the Application). The final stage of the divorce is confirmed by the Final Divorce Order, which can be applied for following a minimum period of 6 weeks from the date of the Conditional Order.

If you are civil partners, our Firm can assist with the Dissolution of your Civil Partnership or your Legal Separation Agreement.
Dissolution of a Civil Partnership follows a similar procedure to divorce, and therefore our fees will be £250.00 plus VAT. Upon application, there is a Court Fee of £612.00.
Legal Separation Agreements are an alternative method to formalise your separation, and further information regarding the effect of a Legal Separation Agreement can be provided upon request. Our fees in relation to this will be charged on an hourly basis, and therefore our fees may vary depending upon the work required to finalise your Legal Separation Agreement.
Please note that in either instance, your financial and property affairs will be required to be dealt with in connection with your Dissolution or Legal Separation Agreement.
